Born: ? November 1970, Westerlo, Belgium, as Jo Alfons Willems.
Education: Sint Lukas Instituut, Brussels, Belgium; London International Film School [LIFS], London, UK.
Career: Received his first professional cinematography opportunity when he was hired to shoot a music video for the band Cable, directed by Mark Adcock. During this shoot, Willems met director David Slade. Willems and Slade collaborated on numerous projects that garnered critical and peer acclaim. He was twice nominated for Best Cinematography at the English CAD Awards. After shooting 100+ music videos in England, Willems moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to continue his career.
