Education: Universidad Complutense, Madrid [1985-90; BA, Science of Light and Image]; American Film Institute [AFI] [1990-93; MFA Cinematography].

Career: Started as c.asst. Went to the USA in 1990 to study at the AFI, where she produced a thesis film.

Ph commercials [for Sony, Winston, Energy Pacific, a.o.] and promotional spots for 'Black History Month' [dir by Spike Lee].

Appeared in the doc 'Women Behind the Camera' [2001-2006, Alexis Krasilovsky; 90m].

Awards: Spanish TV Academy nom [1999] for 'La rosa de piedra'; Women in Film 'Kodak Vision Award' [1999].


Teresa Medina: 'What inspires me is telling stories. That's what makes a movie beautiful. You wait for those scripts and those kinds of directors who have something to say and who respect the contributions that we make as cinematographers. I believe every movie has a unique look, and my mission is to create the look the director and producer are trying to portray through the written word. It is magical to be at the point in the creative process where the printed page comes to life.'
