Education: American Film Institute [AFI], Los Angeles [graduated in 1981].
Career: Was trained by doph Tatsuo Suzuki. Went to the USA.

In 2007, he ph an online short [dir by Forest Whitaker; 3m33s] for Mountain Dew's DEWmocracy campaign, which involved fans electing new flavors, colors, names, packaging graphics and advertisements for upcoming Mountain Dew [Mtn Dew] products.
Served as a professor at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts, from 2005 to 2011. Was ph mentor at the 3rd annual Asian Film Academy [AFA] [2007], a 3-week program that runs alongside the Pusan [Busan] International Film Festival, South Korea, and again in AFA 2013.
