JEFFREY KIMBALL ASC
Born: 29 May 1943, Wichita, Kansas, USA, as Jeffrey Lane Kimball.
Education: North Texas State University [Psychology & Music], Denton, Texas.
Career: Made his first films on weekends in high school with an 8mm camera that he won in a competition by selling newspaper subscriptions. In 1964, after graduation, he landed a trainee position with Warner Bros. He became asst dir, still ph, laboratory tech and c.asst. Became doph shooting commercials in 1965 and left Hollywood for Dallas in 1968 to work with dir Lee Lacey [commercials for Pepsi, Coca Cola, etc.]. In 1972 he returned to Hollywood.
Ph commercials dir by Rocky Morton, Jake Scott, Tony Scott, Garry Marshall, Bob Giraldi, Russell Mulcahy, Oliver Stone, David McNally [for Michelin], a.o. Ph music videos.
Active member of the ASC since 1990.
Awards: Golden Satellite Award nom [2001] for 'Mission: Impossible II'.
