Born: 30 November 1950 (or 1951), ?, Lancashire, UK, as Dafydd Llewelyn Hobson.

Education: Leeds Polytechnic Film Unit [now Northern Film School at Leeds Metropolitan University].

Career: Started as c.asst on the Granada-tv series 'World in Action' [1974-75].

Ph commercials dir by Adrian Shergold, Colin Gregg, Craig Cash, a.o.

Developed the Wonkycam, a handheld camera assist primarily for 16mm cameras.

Was a member [now honorary member] of the BSC since 1998.

Married to Dorothy Russell, a quilt artist.

Runs the Coed y Berclas Holiday Cottage in Anglesey, North Wales [Coed y Berclas Self Catering Coastal Accommodation in a commanding position on Anglesey with magnificent views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia. The cottage is welcoming and homely, The Apartment is 5 star luxury, run privately by Dorothy and Dafydd who live on site and maintain the standard.].

Retired in 201?.
