Born: 24 June 1931, Devonport, Devon, UK, as Richard Henry Bush.
Died: 4 August 1997, West Devon, UK.
Education: Plymouth Art College.
Career: Served as an officer in the Royal Military Police. He later worked at a variety of jobs with Fry's Chocolate and Clarks, a shoe manufacturing business, where he began producing promotional films. His initial film experience at the shoe company enabled him to land a job with the BBC, where he became part of the early 'outside broadcast' tv production and film team.
Was a member of the BSC since 1968.
Awards: BAFTA TV Award 'Individual Honour' [1967]; BAFTA Film Award nom [1979] for 'Yanks'; BSC Award nom [1982] for 'Victor Victoria'; 'Gemini' Award nom [1996] for 'The Man in the Attic'.
