Born: 1 May 1936, Paris, France, as Étienne Louis Becker, son of dir Jacques Becker [1906-1960].

Died: 11 December 1995, Paris, France.

Career: Started in the photo lab of the newspaper France Dimanche. Entered film industry as c.asst with doph Ghislain Cloquet. Became c.op.

Ph commercials dir by Jean Becker, Sarah Moon, a.o.

His brother Jean [1933-] is a film dir; his sister Sophie was a script girl and was married to doph Ghislain Cloquet.

Awards: 'César' Award nom [1976] for 'Le vieux fusil'; 'César' Award nom [1977] for 'Le jouet'.
